Mangrol Multimedia at New Delhi World Book Fair 2017
Wednesday 12 January 2017
Thursday right from the word go proved to be a very hectic and fruitful day for all participants of
New Delhi World Book Fair 2017. And hall 12A where we have our stall 160, was even more
fortunate. For, there was a book launch at Lekhak Manch of the hall in morning itself and the chief
guest was Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat. One of his guests had joined us from gate 7 of
the Pragati Maidan when we reached to the venue in morning. He, 82, was so energetic and lively
that one would never realise his age.
The unveiling of the book and visit of a leader had charged up the atmosphere in our hall. Besides, there were lots of students also, who were enjoying the world of books with their curious eyes. Many of them came to us, and asked few questions about media, translation, trans-creation and other services.
Today, we also had fielded couple of persons to distribute our leaflets in and around our hall. That proved to be a fruitful exercise as many interesting people did come to our stall to know about our services. Few of them were publishers and stall holders like us. They exchanged visiting cards with us besides inviting us to visit their stall. We humbly accepted their invitation and assured a visit before the fair ends.
While inquiries for our translation services kept on coming from all corners throughout the day, we were also happy that writers and translators also came to us in bigger number today. We explained them the way we conduct our business and what we expect from our associates. We are sure that few of them would become our long lasting associates and do wonderful work.
There were inquiries for street plays, short films, documentaries and power point presentation too. One of our visitors, a young and enterprising man, was a general manager of a leading company. He was interested in making a corporate film for his company. Then there was a young man in his 20s with a good experience of the film industry. He wanted to join hands to make a web series. When he realised that we had already written a web series, and the same would soon go into production, he felt like at home. We listened to his needs and assured that together, we would do better than he would have imagined. People interested in web designing and e-commerce too came in sizeable numbers. We gave satisfactory information to them as well.
The day ended little early for as crowd thinned by 6.30 pm or so. Delhi’s winter is surely playing its part, we believed. However, the way we remained busy throughout the day and ended up meeting the highest number of prospects before it was evening, we are very sure that the last three days are going to be rocking in all sense. And Friday being Lohri followed by weekend, we know we would have a perfect climax for New Delhi World Book Fair 2017!
